Breweries In and Near Baltimore

Union Craft Brewing

1700 Union Avenue
Suite D
Baltimore, Maryland

Though small, it is widely regarded as one of Baltimore’s greatest craft breweries. Union Craft Brewing offers a huge range of delicious craft beers and their tasting room is open three days a week (Thursday through Saturday). Its small size means that it can often get crowded–especially on Fridays–but its cool industrial space and impressive guided tour make it a great place to stop by.

Heavy Seas Beer

4615 Hollins Ferry Road
Suite B
Halethorpe, Maryland

Heavy Seas is a microbrewery, established only a little over a decade ago in 2003, that offers a robust selection of beers. From their flagship beer, Loose Cannon, to seasonal selections like Riptide, a white IPA, Heavy Seas is sure to satisfy. Brewery tours are only five dollars and held four times a day on Saturday by reservation; their tap room is open Wednesday through Friday from 3PM through 8PM and Saturday from noon to 8PM.

Flying Dog

4607 Wedgewood Boulevard
Frederick, Maryland

Located about fifty miles outside of Baltimore in sleepy Frederick, Maryland, Flying Dog has been setting the standard in the Maryland beer since they opened their doors in the early nineties, making way for the whole new brewery scene. Best known for their pale ales, Flying Dog also occasionally hosts events like outdoor concert series and others. They hold tours and growler fills three days a week (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays–see the website for specific hours).
